Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a hard game. And because of that, very often frustrating. Just as the first game was. But also, equally amazing as enjoyable. First, there is that typical Ori-scenery, which can be described best as a vivid painting. It helps that the map is vast too. Next to the main mission, this sequel offers also lots of side quests. The music is top notch and carries every image. But above all, one will never forget to mention the great gameplay.
Yes, the successor of Ori and the Blind Forest succeeds again in rewarding you with absolute joy when achieving a well-deserved victory in one of the high-tension boss fights or rushes for your life, or grabbing that last missing key stone in very difficult circumstances. After all, that’s what platform gaming is all about.
It’s clearly not a game for heart patients, as there are moments in the game where the pressure of executing the right move at the right time is so stressful that you can almost feel your heart exploding out of your chest. But it is a must-have for the real lovers of modern platformers, as it is stuffed with marvellous locations and thrilling action scenes.
