Yes I DID it, I completed Dead Space! It’s such a great space horror game, but you can expect some difficulties when launching it for the first time. By design, there is a Vsync issue in the PC-port of game which makes it almost impossible to steer the mouse. Also, the game has a very annoying, unconfigurable Field of View (FoV).
The Vsync issue is easy to fix: just disable Vsync in the game, and enable Vsync on your GPU driver.
Luckily there’s a tool, called WideScreenFixer, which also fixes the second problem. First download the right version here. No install is required, but you need to run it as administrator AFTER launching the game (so ALT+Tab for once). On the Main tab, now select Dead Space and click on the grey icon next to it. Once there, choose the appropriate version of the game and put the FOV-slider to the desired value. Now click Save settings and then Close Window.
Now, each time you play the game, you need to run WideScreenFixer as well.
Probably, you’ll want to assign a key combination too to switch between the default FoV and your custom FoV. This can be done on the Settings tab (I choose Ctrl + Shift + B).
And that’s it, just enjoy the game now.
